The Air That You Breathe

With allergy season in full blast, we tend to feel great once we get home and therefore are away from pollen, redwood and all those agents that make us sneeze a thousand times a day. Now what if I told you the air in your house also needs some TLC?

I finished a project for a client to get her mother’s house ready for her to move back in after a long illness. They requested carpet cleaning, dusting and deep cleaning, followed by stocking the house with personal items as well as her favorite snacks. Ms. X is 87 year old and considering her medical frailness, something came into mind… AIR!IMG_0729

I called my client asking how long it had been since they had the air ducts in the house cleaned… and I caught her by surprise. She couldn’t think of it. After inspection, I was so glad I recommended it! The filters were covered and the ducts completely clogged and therefore blowing it all over the home, even though no one could see it. This is how dirty the filter was!!!

After a couple hours, a few great professionals and a lots of vacuuming and brushing, the difference and unbelievable. I’m sure you’ve been good taking your vitamins and always using sunscreen… when was the last time you’ve paid attention to the air you are breathing?!

Colorful Passover treat

For Passover this year, I decided to come up with a fruit tart recipe, and see if I could achieve the goodness of its taste, with no flour and no cardboard taste!

TartTart dish
I started with fine ground Matzoh meal, almonds and butter and pressed that on the bottom of a removable side pie dish that was covered in non-stick spray.

Tarte pastry
Homemade pastry cream covered the baked dough, before mangoes, strawberries and berries danced over it before receiving a brush coat of apricot jam.

Tart done
Not too sweet, this was a great success among all, who kept inquiring if this was really Kosher for Passover!

How it works:

After a first brief phone conversation, we’ll set an appointment with you and anyone in your household, to go over any dietary restrictions, likes, dislikes, allergies and can accommodate all special requests. We can show you sample menus that can always be adjusted or combined with any cravings, or even build a new menu all together. We’ll make sure your kitchen is equipped and if there is anything missing, we’ll bring it on the days we will be cooking there

On the cooking day

IMG_1927I will come to your home (you don’t have to be present) bring the groceries and equipment, cook the meals for the week, package them either individually or family-style with attach reheating and serving instructions, and leave them in your refrigerator or freezer. And will only leave once everything is put away and the kitchen is clean.

Coming home after a long day? Pour yourself a glass of wine, choose a dish in the fridge, pop it in the oven and treat yourself to a nice hot shower. Dinner is served!.
